Melanie represented the Australian Open Women’s team, Aussie Spirit, for 20 years from 1988-2008 playing 229 games for her country. She is ranked in the top 20 of all time for Australian appearances in the women’s program. Melanie competed in four Olympic Games (1996, 2000, 2004, 2008) and four World Championships (1990, 1994, 1998, 2006). Melanie is one of only three players to medal in four Olympic Games, with three bronze medals and one silver medal.
Internationally renowned as one of Australia's most successful pitchers and amongst the few Australian women to win medals at 4 consecutive Olympic Games for Softball, Mel Roche is officially retiring from the Australian Softball team in July after a 20 year commitment, but is now throwing her strength, determination and love of the game into making a name for herself in the music industry. ...
